Austin couldn’t believe his car was gone! Who could have taken it?
Austin ran to look for his keys but they weren’t there. Austin looked everywhere for his keys but he couldn’t find them so he decided to tell his friends. He called Peter who asked him to look for his keys in his drawer. But Austin had already looked in his drawer and they weren’t there. Then, he decided to call the cops because he knew nobody else would be able to help him. But all the cops did was tell Austin to fill out a form and comforted him that they would find the thief and his car. But that was no use! It was up to Austin to figure out where his car was and who took it.
Austin thought of going to his driveway to find some clues. As he was walking down the driveway, he noticed a business card lying on the ground. It had the name “Hawkes Knome” written on it. Austin ran inside and searched up the internet for this name. He was shocked to find out that Hawkes was the # 1 thief in the city and on the wanted list by the cops. He quickly searched up for an image for this person, and a picture of a young man with long hair showed up. He looked very scary and Austin did not know how he could catch him.
Then, Austin had a brilliant idea. He made flyers with the thief’s picture on it and put them up everywhere in his neighbourhood! The flyer had his phone number on it, asking the people to call him if they saw any person looking like the picture on the flyer.
Ring! Ring! Austin ran to get the phone. Someone was talking on the phone but could not speak properly due to excitement and nervousness.
“I know...know...where….where the thief is!” the voice stammered.
“Where? Where ?” Austin shouted impatiently.
“I saw him near the park under the pine tree,” said the voice.
Austin sped to the park and there sure was the thief under the pine tree. He saw his car parked and ran to see if his keys were in there. But they weren’t there. Austin looked back at the thief and saw the thief spinning the keys in his fingers.
“Looking for these,” the thief said with a cunning smile.
Austin ran to get his keys but the thief was too quick. Austin screamed at the thief to give his keys back to him but the thief only laughed. Austin punched the thief hard in his face which threw him to the floor but he quickly got up. Now the smile on his face was gone. He jumped up on Austin trying to strangle him!
Just as Austin thought that there was no hope left of capturing the thief, he heard the police sirens. The police came in and arrested the thief. Austin was bruised and injured all over. The police got the keys from the thief and handed them over to Austin. Then they called the ambulance which took Austin to get First Aid treatment.
Austin gets goose bumps every time he remembers the incident. He can’t believe that he was able to get through it alive. But this incident taught him a very important lesson…… never forget your keys in the car!
