Once upon a time there were two sisters and their names were Amina and Aisha. Aisha was 11 and Amina was 8. They played and they laughed and talked, and when the little sister got scared or hurt, the bigger sister came to help. One day Amina asked Mama if they could go outside.
Mama said, “We can go for a hike in the forest, let’s go!”
Amina and Aisha went outside. Amina looked at the trees, the birds, the butterflies, and everything else.
Amina said, “Wow, the forest is so beautiful and peaceful.”
Aisha said, “Yeah, it is pretty and beautiful, I was going to say the same thing too.”
When they were walking, Mama said, “Let’s go back.”
When they got home, Aisha said, “Mama, what food are you making for dinner?”
Mama said, “I am making spaghetti, do you want to help me?”
“Yes,” said Amina and Aisha.
Mama said to the girls, “Don’t forget to say Bismillah and your dua before you break your fast!” Everyone was fasting for days and days. After breaking their fast, Baba told the girls Eid was coming in a few days. The girls were so happy!
The girls said, “But we have no dresses to wear on Eid.”
Baba smiled, and said to the girls, “I will buy you dresses for Eid tomorrow morning, Insha’Allah.”
The next morning, Baba, Amina, and Aisha went in their red car. When they were in the store, Baba told the girls to pick their dresses. Amina picked a pink dress with flowers and jewels on it, and asked her Baba if she could get it. Baba said yes. Aisha picked a blue dress with flowers and jewels on it, and asked Baba if she could get it. Baba said yes too. Amina and Aisha told Baba that they wanted to hand out some candy at the masjid on Eid. So Baba let the girls pick some before leaving the store.
Baba got the dresses and candy and told the girls, “Let’s get in the car”.
Amina and Aisha said, “Thank you Baba!”
Baba said, “You’re welcome”.
When they were home, Aisha asked Mama, “How many days are left until Eid?”
Mama said, “One more day!”
Amina and Aisha were very happy. When it was their bed time, Mama told them to go to bed. Their bed was a bunk bed that was really high. The girls took turns going on the top and bottom bunks to sleep.
The next day Amina and Aisha were sleeping when Baba woke them up at 5:30 in the morning. They had to go to the masjid to pray the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer. The girls were so tired and sleepy.
Baba said to the girls, “You can wear your dresses now!”
The girls got out of their beds and put on their dresses. Mama and Baba were in their room. The girls showed Mama and Baba the dresses that they were wearing.
Mama told them, “Go in the living room. There is a surprise waiting for you girls”.
So the girls went in the living room, and saw balloons, streamers, and a banner that said, ‘Eid Mubarak’. There was a long table that had candy, chips, and cookies on it. At the end of the table, there were two gifts. One was for Amina, and one was for Aisha. The sisters opened up the gifts. Amina got pink shoes that were sparkly and bright. Aisha got a blue sparkly bright purse. They brought their gifts with them to the masjid.
When they were at the masjid everyone told them how cute they looked, masha’Allah. Amina and Aisha did a good deed at the masjid. They gave money to needy families, and handed out candy to everyone.
After the masjid, the girls went to visit their family’s house, because they were making an Eid party. They had told them to come at 12 o’clock. Amina and Aisha were talking with their aunts and uncles. For lunch they ate burgers, hotdogs, and fruit. For dessert they had gulab jamen, and a giant cake that said ‘Eid Mubarak’ on it. After lunch and dessert, there was a piñata waiting for all the kids. The piñata looked like a giant flower. They broke the piñata and there was candy falling out from it.
When the party was done, they went home, and Aisha and Amina had a surprise for Baba and Mama. It was a giant painting that had beautiful painted flowers, a beautiful sky, and a shining sun. They painted it in their room when Baba and Mama were busy.
Mama and Baba said, “Thank you, thank you, we really like your painting!”
The sisters went to bed, and Mama and Baba tucked them in.
Amina and Aisha said, “Thank you Mama, thank you Baba, we had a good time today!”
Amina said, “Hey Mama, the best part of Eid, was hitting the piñata and giving you the present.”
Aisha said, “The best part of Eid for me, was getting the dresses and handing out candy. That was the most fun part of my day.”
Mama said, “Aww you guys are so cute, good night, sweet dreams, I love you.” Baba said goodnight and said the duas with the girls.
